I have experience with several different breeds of horses: friesians, quarter horses, thoroughbreds, Arabians, Tennessee walkers, cross breeds. I give lessons at round about stables. I offer beginner to advanced lessons, in basic riding, being a good leader, etc. I also offer coaching for you and your barrel horse or just in general ie you and your horses relationship, working with your leadership skills, understanding your horse better, bonding exercises, etc. I offer tune ups and exercise programs on all ages and breeds of horses and I travel to you or you can board here at round about stables. I offer some basic training programs which include ground manners, behavioral problems, starting a horse in the saddle or on the ground, etc. I do western and english. I compete in barrels and will start competing in show jumping this summer. I train my own horses and take a few English lessons from another instructor at round about. I also offer feeding/grooming/care for your horses or dogs, whatever, while you are out of town or just need/want help. I will begin to be available when I come home from college on May 7. I also have some experience with wild/untamed horses. I train quietly and use a type of natural horse method, I listen and try to understand the horse best I can and am not quick to anger. I don't use force but am a firm confident leader that horses seem to appreciate. Round About Stables is a full-service equestrian facility located 25 minutes south of Downtown Dallas in Cedar Hill. We offer riding lessons and training for all levels of riders and horses, guided trail rides, and full-care pasture board. Horses live in horse-safe, shaded pastures in herds of no more than 4. All horses are fed 2x daily, and have free-choice access to quailty costal hay. Hogany Tops has openings in our riding lesson and training programs and we would love to help you excel in your riding, whether it is for competition or pleasure, or to help you with your green horse/pony or your made up horse/pony continuing to improve! We teach and train at our facility or we can come to yours.

Hogany Tops Farm is a hunter jumper training and lesson barn located just outside of Dallas, TX, in beautiful Edgewood, TX, dedicated to establishing superior horsemanship with physically fit, willing and content, well trained horses and riders. Accordingly, a consistent training routine and at least a minimum lesson program are pertinent to accomplish this goal. Training and instruction, specializing in hunters, jumpers and equitation are designed with the horse and rider in mind and customized to fit each one’s individual abilities and objectives to reach their full potential. We focus on correct equitation in the jumpers as well as the hunters. All good riding is based on dressage as a foundation. Hours spent on the flat ultimately produce a fluid ride over fences in the hunters and an accurate and powerful ride occurring in a timely fashion in the jumpers.
All levels of riders, beginner through advanced are welcome in our lesson program and we have wonderful lesson horses for those who do not have one! HTF provides the opportunity to horse show at both local and national competitions. Hogany Tops Farm offers quality horses and ponies for sale or lease.
Hogany Tops Farm originated in 1985 in Macon, Georgia. The business is owned and operated by Jo Beard, who was born, raised and educated in Virginia. Her love for and association with horses began at an early age, in the family barn, which at the age of eight led her to horse shows and fox hunts with her father. Her journey with horses continued to the professional level when at the age of 18 she was schooling, training, and showing horses and ponies and catch-riding at horse shows. Her professional focus centered on hunters and jumpers and as she developed her own riding skills, she became involved in the sport of steeplechase racing and took that to a highly successful professional level as one of two licensed female steeplechase jockeys in the United States. She has subsequently trained and owned hundreds of show horses and has consistently been successfully involved in both local and national horse show competition. Today, her focus is on the interest of her clients and their goals and aspirations. She has the experience (over 40 years of teaching all levels), and the skills and patience to take them where they want to go. Both Jo’s children and grandchildren are also very successful and well known in the hunter jumper world! Jo’s extensive experience in the industry has created a wide network of friends and professional associates nationwide. Referrals will be gladly given upon request.

Custom Built, Large Full Care 20 stall barn. 14 x 14 stalls w/runs. Full Care Stalls $705 to $750 a month. We feed Nutrena Safe Choice Feeds and clean coastal or alfalfa hay 2X daily. We feed on a set schedule to keep your horse healthy and happy. Insulated from the cold and heat. Both barns have automatic waterers (from well water so your horse isn't drinking chemical filled city water), rollout feeders, windows.

We have a large Indoor Arena (100 x 150) with great footing, a outdoor arena (100 x 100), and acres of grassy areas to ride. We have a trail obstacle course on site as well as a dressage ring. We have full care options for both pasture and stall, with oversized stalls available up to 12 x 16. We are the only boarding facility in the area that has its own irrigated and fertilized hay fields. The hay fields on site supply consistent high quality square bales, plus we never have hay surcharges.
