Remuda Farm is a newly constructed boarding facility for the owner and rider who appreciate and recognize superior horsemanship and horse keeping. Our facilities were designed with the well-being of the horse as our priority. Our goal is to provide a horse friendly facility that can be enjoyed by riders and owners of any discipline or skill level. Some of our amenities include 17 spacious stalls with fans and runs, many acres of safely fenced turnout, grooming stalls, wash racks, climate controlled tack room and boarders lounge, lighted covered arena with a big fan, outdoor roping arena, round pen, exercise track and jump field. Tucked away off of 1488 and in close proximity to the Magnolia, Hockley, Waller, Cypress, Tomball area, Firecreek Stables prides itself on being a barn that is clean and safe, with friendly boarders. Our goal is to fit the need of each specific horse and owner. We have 40 acres of pasture turnout and 50 acres of riding area and a recently completed 9000 sq. ft. barn. It has spacious cemented aisles for easy tacking up, and features 18 spacious 12x12 stalls with pro liner rubber mats and automatic waterers. The 12x12 cement hot/cold wash rack is clean and safe. Our facility includes a 9600 sq.ft. LIGHTED AND COVERED ARENA for exercise in any weather as well as a 9600 sq.ft. open arena, round pen, 3 ponds for swimming, fans in each stall in summer and blanketing in winter. We offer personalized care for each horse in our facility. We believe that each horse is an individual, and should be treated as such. Your horse's nutritional, turnout, and fitness programs will be planned with you upon move-in, and modified as needed when your horse's needs change. Our 36 acre facility includes: large grass pasture turnout; 1 sand arena; 1 grass dressage arena; beautiful high-ceilinged barn with wash racks with hot and cold water, comfort stall mats in all stalls, fans, and climate-controlled tack room.

Lessons
We want each student to have a feeling of accomplishment and excitement while learning new skills and reaching a set of goals with their horse or pony. While safety is our primary concern, fun runs a close second. We offer hunter/jumper lessons, eventing, Pony Club, trail rides and horse shows. Private and semi-private lessons are available from beginner to advanced on your horse or ours. We offer a fun, friendly, inviting environment that is sure to please. Our students leave each lesson with a sense of confidence and pride.

Our staff has raised countless foals and started dozens of young horses under saddle. Whether you want your horse to learn the basics, or to become a finished trail or show horse, we take a patient, methodical approach designed to increase your horse's strength and suppleness while building trust, confidence, and skill.

The match between horse and rider is a key component of riding success and satisfaction. We believe that purchasing the right horse requires time and careful consideration. We are a full care boarding facility that specializes in hunter/jumper lessons and training. We have a lighted indoor arena, an all weather footing outdoor arena and a grass arena. The use of fans and blanketing are included in the board along with deworming every 8 weeks. There is an onsite equine veterinarian clinic along with 24hr supervision for your horse. Horses are fed three times a day and stalls are cleaned twice daily.

BOARDING:

Barn has safe, open concept for optimum ventilation, socialization, and comfort for the horse. Large indoor hallway leads to a 90 x 175 lighted, covered arena. Other amenities include a 350 x 100 outdoor arena; a lighted, covered 45 foot in diameter round pen; a large 100 foot in diameter round pen; lighted, concrete wash rack with hot and cold water; and acres of trail riding.....

Stalls have individual lights, fans, and automatic fly spray systems. The owners have lived on the property for almost 20 years; the barn manager has lived on the property for over 7 years. Both the owners and the barn manager monitor the horses throughout the day and evening to see if they are eating and drinking normally. Horses are turned out daily (weather permitting) into half acre, shaded, individual pens. High quality hay and grain is fed twice a day on a set schedule. Stalls are cleaned six days a week. Trailer parking is available in an all weather, lighted parking lot...

The tack room contains a dehumidifier, air conditioner, refrigerator, microwave and wifi so observers can be comfortable as they watch friends who might be riding outside in inclement weather. An indoor rest room with a shower provides a place where those who come directly from work to ride can change their clothes. EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE INTERNSHIPS & COLLEGE CREDIT:

Interns have come from many different states including California, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, and New York. Not all interns are college students, but interns from schools such as Purdue, the University of Maryland, and Northeastern Junior College in Colorado have received college credit from their respective schools.
Brigadoon Farm offers Horsemanship at Alvin Community College. PHED 1145 is a college credit course providing basic information on riding, handling, training, and caring for horses. TRAINING/LESSONS:

Brigadoon Farm focuses on positive reinforcement in training horses. Though the farm raises and trains reining horses, this strategy is effective with all equine disciplines. Basic beginner to advanced riding lessons are offered with refresher courses for those that rode as youngsters and want to get back in the saddle again as adults. Reining lessons are available for those who would like to try a reiner for a “spin”......

Free weekly practice riding and training sessions for boarders are held every Sunday morning. These are videotaped and critiqued are followed by a trip to Joe’s restaurant for brunch. (everyone buys their own omlets!)......
