Russell Ridge was a carefully selected farm. William spent several years working at different facilities that did not meet his standards for quality. Some of the farms had inadequate turn out, turnout that lacked grass or forage, or no turnout at all, rings that were too small or had poor footing, and had barns that were poorly lit or lacked space and functionality; all of which he considered to be extremely basic and important factors for a farm. He began searching for a location that had the potential to have all the amenities he was looking for. In 2004, he found it. Named for the ridge that runs along the side of where the ring now sits, Russell Ridge had it all. An enormous open field that could be split multiple times for huge turnout fields, and room on top of the ridge for a big barn and ring with an excellent view of the pastures. Back then there wasn’t any kind of driveway and the top of the ridge was an extremely uneven pine forest, but William had a vision, and he spent the next seven years bringing it to life. I have a 256 acre Horse farm in Dallas Georgia 30132. I have 3 Lakes that my Grandfather built in the 1950"s and 1960's because my Grandmother loved to fish. The biggest lake is 11 acres and the next is 8 acres and the last is 7 acres. These are available for fishing for a small fee. I also have a beautiful winding creek that runs through the property and all of these are the natural water sources for the horses. I have 3 round pens for ground work and a tack room. I have a 10,000 sq ft hay barn and a hospital stall if needed. I feed excellent quality hay that I raise on the farm from November through March. I have 7 pastures ranging from 11 acres to as large as 20 acres. Each Pasture has access to its own water source being either lake or creek. I have 12 acres of trails on the front of the Property and 63 acres of Trails on the back of the property. Also the property has lots of dirt roads less than a half a mile from the property that are also available for riding on through the woods. It is a very beautiful and peaceful laid back place to come and board if you are interested in boarding your horse at a place with Trails for riding. There is no barn drama here and most of my boarders have been with me for 8 to 10 years so it is an awesome and friendly atmosphere. The board fee is $150.00 per month per head for 7 months out of the year. In the winter months it goes to $250.00 per head to cover the hay that I put out in hay rings for the horses. GB’s Stable is located in Smyrna on 100 acres with a newly finished state of the art equestrian center that includes 44 stalls (with automatic waterers and mats), two in-door hot/cold wash racks, a lounge, and individual tack rooms. The barn was built for the horses (plenty of natural light, great circulation, and lots of space). The property has over ten paddocks, summer and winter grazing pastures, as well as a riding arena (with jumps) and lunging pen. There are over two miles of riding trails, trailer parking, and a twenty five acre lake. Fencing is chain link, field, electric, or a combination of the three. Horses get to go out daily from 8:30am until evening feeding with night turnout available in the warmer months. The owners live on site and the caretaker and staff have the highest standard of care and professionalism available.

Partial board, which includes stall rental, shavings, and use of the facilities, is available, as is, full board, which includes everything from partial board, as well as daily turn out, stall cleaning, twice daily feeding, and the purchase of your choice of a variety of different feeds and hay. Some like the flexibility of partial/full board in that they choose what services they need and when they need it (i.e. only morning care or full care when they are on vacation, etc…). The package you want is the package that you can have.

There are two veterinary offices and several farriers that take care of the horses and are on call whenever needed. All horses are required to be current on coggins, worming, and shots. GB’s has a great group of people; with very low turnover. The group is about 50/50 English/Western. Some boarders show, but for the most part the boarders are pleasure riders. In the warmer months there are weekly bbqs and periodically weekend camping/trail riding excursions. Cheatham Hill Park and Boundary Waters Park are both a short drive from GB’s and offer miles of riding trails. Trainers are on site, but it is permissible for you to bring your own.

Westover is located close to the intersection of Burnt Hickory Road and Barrett Parkway. It is a beautiful quiet setting just minutes from the Kennesaw Mountain trails. There are a total of twelve acres divided into two pastures and one paddock. Both pastures have access to a large pond. Large pasture has a run-in shelter, smaller pasture has access to stalls with tack rooms. Pasture board only or pasture board with stall available. All 3-board white fencing - no wires.
