We offer retirement board and will have an opening available in spring 2016.We understand that the older or chronically unsound horse has different needs and that it can be stressful finding the perfect retirement home. We pride ourselves on maintaining a safe facility and offering the best quality care possible. Board is $300/ month and includes:

-Free-choice hay and grain as needed (particularly hard keepers may be charged for extra grain)
-Weekly grooming
-Regular deworming (with yearly fecal egg counts performed by our veterinarian to ensure the efficacy of our deworming program)
-Regular professional hoof trims
-Blanket and fly mask/sheet changes
-Small turnout group sizes in well-maintained fields, safe fencing, and multiple checks per day
-We always welcome visits and we will send updated photos as often as desired.

Outdoor 85x150 sand arena w/jumps, 70x135 indoor arena with mirrors, lights w/ sand and Lightfoot footing. Miles of well-groomed wooded trails right on the property. Field board only. Fog Hill Stables is a small, private boarding stable providing excellent care for a limited number of horses. We offer a center aisle barn with wash rack and tack room with washer/dryer as well as a blue stone and sand arena with an excellent set of schooling jumps and a grass dressage arena.

A customized care plan is provided for all horses, and we are available to assist with vet and farrier appointments as needed. I currently have space for two geldings.

Showing, Lessons, Boarding

Misty Brook Farm offers quality boarding and Dressage training for horse and rider, as well as beginner lessons for horse enthusiasts. Several camps or clinics are offered throughout the year, for children and for adults. Horses are housed in one of two barns, have daily turn out in small groups (weather permitting) and can be exercised in the 95x300 outdoor arena (lights come on automatically at dusk). For the rider's comfort there is a lounge (climate controlled) a bathroom and a viewing deck. Wash stall with hot and cold water, fly misting system to minimize the fly population, and tack room are other conveniences MBF offers. Scarlett Grove Stables is situated on almost 16 acres of lush pasture. This full service boarding, training and sales barn is conveniently located on Route 7. We are 30 minutes to Upperville, 40 minutes to Morven Park Show grounds in Leesburg & Middleburg, Virginia. Also minutes from a cross country course.

Laid back atmosphere ~ Your horse will receive outstanding care.

The barn has 9-12x12 matted stalls, hot and cold wash stall, and a large tack/lounge room. The outdoor arena is 100x200 with a mix of sand and bluestone.

Stall Board starting at $350.00 (grain and bedding supplied by owner)
Stall Board including hay, grain, bedding and weekly grooming $500.00

Daily exercise $25.00 a ride

Field Board starting at $200.00 (grain supplied by owner and there is an extra $100 fee in the winter for hay)

Holly Grubb is the head trainer of Scarlett Grove Stables. She has competed through Intermediate level with over 20 years of successful coaching, training and showing three day eventing to teach you the proper skills from the basics of riding up to advanced levels. Holly trained under Sandora Oppenheim. Holly brings out the best in her riders, ponies and horses in a fun yet challenging environment. She builds sportsmanship into her riders while they achieve success in the show ring.
