Shepard Stable is a horse boarding and lesson facility located on 34 acres between West Lafayette and Brookston, IN. We do not get contact information if you fill out the request form so please either call us or visit our web site and send us an e-mail. We are located 20 minutes north of Purdue University off State Road 43 North, with easy access from SR 18 and I-65.

Shepard Stable is open to all breeds and disciplines, with two large outdoor arenas and plenty of outdoor riding available. Other amenities include a round pen, jump standards, barrels, and poles, an on site tack and feed shop, locked boarder tack storage, and more. We are a family oriented, no drama, stable that offers expert and loving care for your equines. Riding lessons are offered by mature instructors with years of experience. We sell Tribute Equine Nutrition feeds on site. We also offer loving retirement boarding for your retired equine. Contact us for information.

Are you traveling with your horses? We offer layovers with trailer plugin for an overnight stay.

Horses eat three times per day to sustain proper metabolism year round. There is a large 70x120 indoor arena to enjoy that has proper footing, lights, seating, fans, and heaters. A separate tack barn is available for boarders, that is heated and cooled to store tack, as well as a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and a library of horse magazines, books, and video's. The stable is located within a 7-10min walk of Southwestway Park which is an Indy Park that has miles free horse trails. The park goes along White River, Winding River Golf Course, to White River Bridge, Cotton Wood Lakes, and has lots of hills. There are two trainers/instructors and one lives on site. Sommers Lane Equestrian Center is a full-care boarding and training facility located in Cicero, IN. The facility is semi-private with only 8 stalls available to outside boarders. Your horse will enjoy our rich pastures, large stalls and individual attention. We are a drama free facility and enjoy a fun peaceful family friendly atmosphere. We are really good with the special needs of older horses. All our horses are treated like our own and we provide the best care to each of them. We have heated water buckets in every stall and heated water in the field in the winter. The farrier visits every two weeks and the vet lives very close. We provide high quality care for the Southside price.
