Carroll Stables is a family owned and operated boarding, riding and training facility located on 31 acres in a quiet country setting with quick and easy access to Hwy 36, Hwy 59, and Crabb River Road. We have a gated property offering full care boarding at an affordable price with 3 barns, 26 stalls, 7 pastures for daily turnout, secure tack/feed room, top quality feed and hay, 100ft x 200ft covered and lighted arena, round pen, concrete wash rack with stocks, barrels, poles, jumps, and other obstacles. We pride ourselves in providing a clean, safe and comfortable environment for horses and owners alike. Our focus is on the individual needs of each horse to ensure optimum health and happiness. BOARDING:

Barn has safe, open concept for optimum ventilation, socialization, and comfort for the horse. Large indoor hallway leads to a 90 x 175 lighted, covered arena. Other amenities include a 350 x 100 outdoor arena; a lighted, covered 45 foot in diameter round pen; a large 100 foot in diameter round pen; lighted, concrete wash rack with hot and cold water; and acres of trail riding.....

Stalls have individual lights, fans, and automatic fly spray systems. The owners have lived on the property for almost 20 years; the barn manager has lived on the property for over 7 years. Both the owners and the barn manager monitor the horses throughout the day and evening to see if they are eating and drinking normally. Horses are turned out daily (weather permitting) into half acre, shaded, individual pens. High quality hay and grain is fed twice a day on a set schedule. Stalls are cleaned six days a week. Trailer parking is available in an all weather, lighted parking lot...

The tack room contains a dehumidifier, air conditioner, refrigerator, microwave and wifi so observers can be comfortable as they watch friends who might be riding outside in inclement weather. An indoor rest room with a shower provides a place where those who come directly from work to ride can change their clothes. EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE INTERNSHIPS & COLLEGE CREDIT:

Interns have come from many different states including California, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Massachusetts, and New York. Not all interns are college students, but interns from schools such as Purdue, the University of Maryland, and Northeastern Junior College in Colorado have received college credit from their respective schools.
Brigadoon Farm offers Horsemanship at Alvin Community College. PHED 1145 is a college credit course providing basic information on riding, handling, training, and caring for horses. TRAINING/LESSONS:

Brigadoon Farm focuses on positive reinforcement in training horses. Though the farm raises and trains reining horses, this strategy is effective with all equine disciplines. Basic beginner to advanced riding lessons are offered with refresher courses for those that rode as youngsters and want to get back in the saddle again as adults. Reining lessons are available for those who would like to try a reiner for a “spin”......

Free weekly practice riding and training sessions for boarders are held every Sunday morning. These are videotaped and critiqued are followed by a trip to Joe’s restaurant for brunch. (everyone buys their own omlets!)......

Carefree Equestrians is a boarding, retirement, and lesson barn located on 60 acres. We offer pasture board or full care stall board. Pastures are 1-3 acres with 12’x24’ shelters, quality round bales, and electrobraid fencing. Oversized 14’x14’ matted stalls are mesh front with Dutch doors to the back. The facility includes a climate controlled tackroom with restroom, washer and dryer, wash stall with hot and cold water.
