Horse Boarding in Salem, South Carolina (Oconee County)

Flying M Farms is a private boarding farm. We used to stand two stallions that we bred and we foaled out many show foals. We showed our stock while the kids were young. Kid's are grown and have moved on so I'm putting this nice place to work again. Offering pasture board at $250.00 per horse.
In Winter we have a feeding fee of $30 per month. As all horses are fed by us so we know all have eaten and checked over. In winter all boarders split rounds and grain cost which are extra. The feed bill will be tallied up at the end of the month and we only charge what the horses have eaten. This allows us to keep cost down for all of us. If we get coupons we share that with all. We put out hay as needed while grain is everyday. When the grass comes in enough and we stop feeding grain then the 30 dollar fee goes away. We also offer two separate medical, retirement or stallion lots with their own shelters. Those we will discuss what the care that is needed and come up with a price for you. We are open to all disciplines,jumps,barrels etc.

24 acres ,auto (heated in winter) waterers, vet friendly medical stocks,tack room,Two Extra large pasture shelters along with large oak trees for shade.
Place for tie outs to tack up or wash your horses.
Regular times when farrier comes out. Many vet near by just in case.
We not only have the horses but the wild life here is just a plus. Enjoy they come around to see the people.
Privately owned and watched plus it’s very quiet here. We have several Senior horses here with special diets that we can accommodate. We can come up with a plan to help you out as well.

Shared barn - looking for someone with 2 horses! $350 per month, 1 year contract required.

This is a really peaceful, family based atmosphere. Here you will find a well loved little red barn, behind a beautiful white country home where a loving older couple lives on site. The barn has stalls, an attached run in for shelter/shade, a tack room, and lots of storage for hay. You will find chickens, neighboring cows, and likely a happy Golden Retriever will great you often. Most days however you will find it is a very quiet place, when you can come and enjoy just being with your horse in solitude.

While the couple that lives on the farm has eyes on the horses daily, this is a self care facility, they do not tend to the horses. There are only 4 horses allowed on site, and so I am looking to share the stable with another 2 horses. The horses would live out in one large pasture with 2 well behaved others, and have access to water and shade - and lots of grass. The stalls are to use at your leisure, and responsibilities of watering and cleaning up after the horses is shared between boarders. We are a barn of trail riders, and often trailer out to Croft state park (30 min), and join many of the Western Carolina Hunter Pace rides also.

The pasture is 10 acres or more and will never be overgrazed. We do not grain the horses except for sometimes during the winter months. Hay is purchased and shared between the boarders during the winter. We have a large grass riding pen, with some jumps to enjoy. There are also trails on site behind the pasture that go to the creek. We are a small, quiet, friendly, family owned farm in the country. We are in Iva, SC. Near the Anderson county/Abbeville county line.
We mainly offer self care pasture board. However, we are very happy to work with you and the needs of your horse to accommodate most situations.
At this time, we can only accept mares and geldings. Also, we only have a very limited amount of openings, as we do not crowd the horses here. We firmly believe that a horse that has room to graze naturally is happier and healthier than a horse crammed into a lot with too many other horses. So, openings here are limited, and don't come up too very often.
Our fees for self care pasture board start at $185 per month.
This includes use of our 100'x180' arena and round pen. And our 10 acres of carefully maintained trails.
If you need other services, we are happy to work out a boarding plan to fit your horse.

We are a small farm with several full board options. Our barn stalls feature 12 x 12 matted stalls, fans, and daily turnout. We have several stalls with attached paddocks for individual and private use. All horses are fed twice daily and have access to hay 24/7. Horses can be turned out at least 8-10 hours a day or more if requested. Because we are a small barn we can tailor your horses needs according to your specifications.
