Silver Spade Ranch is conveniently located 1.5 miles west of the highway 26 highway 6 Junction just outside of Hillsboro near Banks Or. A brand new facility just built this summer (2010), we offer Full and Partial care boarding for horse owners who are wanting to better their horsemanship. The facility is geared towards a ranch style of horsemanship, there are regular horsemanship, cow working and ranch roping clinics for all levels of riders as well as private lessons. We offer a drama free enviroment full of encouraging and friendly boarders who genuinely like each other and enjoy riding together and getting together for our annual summer potlucks and Holiday parties.

We do Dressage,English,Western,a little Jumping we have every thing availble to do jump though. We are also the home of B.E.A.T Riding center. B.E.A.T. Riding Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to provide physically, mentally and emotionally challenged individuals an opportunity for emotional and physical growth through horsemanship.

Phyllis Herinckx and Jackie Hopper founded BEAT in 1997 when they were inspired by the dramatic physical and cognitive improvements made by Bradley, a student with cerebral palsy and learning impairments, through horse back riding. Phyllis and Jackie wanted to start a program that could help others reap the benefits from therapeutic riding.

Today BEAT serves over 30 disabled riders each week, including riders from Portland and all over Washington County. We also provide instruction to groups from the YWCA, Head Start and the school districts of Forest Grove, Beaverton and Hillsboro. Riders at BEAT include individuals with a wide range of disabilities including Downs syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy. BEAT is a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) and abides by the association's guidelines for safety and operation.


Our primary funding source is individual contributions. As a federally tax-exempt charitable organization, most of the donations that support BEAT are tax-deductible.

We currently have three instructors. Two of our instructors are certified by NARHA and one is in training. The NARHA certification process tests the applicants' knowledge and skills in the areas of equine management, horsemanship, instruction, teaching methodology and disabilities.The "tools" of the BEAT program are seven highly trained and carefully chosen horses and ponies.

The riders and instructors of BEAT rely on volunteers to make the center a success. Horse experience is needed to lead horses, but not for most of the

We have great facilities at our small and friendly Farm Stay and Stable near Junction City, OR. We offer boarding services in our mostly gaited horse barn. All breeds and disciplines welcome. We also offer a small lesson program on gaited and non-gaited horses. We have a guest barn for horse travelers for both overnight stays and for staying over for a few days of local riding from mountains to beaches.

At our boarding facility and family stable, we specialize in gaited horses with Paso Finos, but all breeds are welcome. Boarding is partial care. (We do not offer self care or full care, although we have a great stall cleaning crew available if you need stalls cleaned) We have a limited number of boarders so your horse will receive individualized care and attention. Always room in the arena for riding. Stalls are light and airy, matted, 12 x 12 in size, and have nice runs. Bedding included. We feed twice a day and turn out in larger pasture. You are responsible for providing hay, grain, supplements, setting up your feed & water, and cleaning a minimum of four times per week. We offer several human guest accommodations for Farms Stays and for travelers with horses. For horse travelers, we have parking available near our guest barn with hook up for living quarters trailers or RV's. We are a small, family run, 8 stall barn which offers exceptional, personalized care for our client's horses. $200 board includes mucking out, feeding, blanketing, and turnout, but does not include hay or feed. We have an all weather dressage arena and grass jumping arena, as well as access to a trail. Stalls are 10x12 with 12x12 covered run outs. Both stalls and run outs are matted. We are a private boarding facility on 53+ tranquil acres in Junction City. Our barn has just 14 stalls, so we have a small, inviting atmosphere without the drama of a large facility.
