La Finca is a very private and secluded 100 year old farm of pastures, shade trees and pond with plenty of shelters. La Finca is 20 miles from Raleigh between Clayton and Wendell. Wonderland Farm is a complete Equine facility specializing in Hunter/Jumpers. Located just 15 minutes west of Wilmington, NC situated on a 106ac wooded tract of horse heaven. We provide Boarding, Lessons, Training, Sales and Shows for our local area.

Head instructor and owner, Karen Halpryn Mealey, has a BA in Equine Studies from Virginia Intermont College in 1990, and was the recipient of the outstanding teaching award. She specializes in teaching intermediate and advanced students. Karen has years of experience breaking and training horses. She starts many young horses of her own as well as client horses.

Assistant Instructor/Barn Manager, Mackenzie Ring is a long time student of Karen's, she specializes in the beginner and timid riders.
The farm hosts local shows for the area as well as competing at away rated shows.

We are a women's no competion barn. We all enjoy each other's company and like to ride alone and with each other. We have 15 rolling acres and full turnout unless it is an ice storm or an injury when we do have stalls. We have trails out from our farm and are always interested in kind, soft eyed horses and women to join us. My job is to take care of your horse as you would like them taken care of within the limits of what we do. I don't believe that horses enjoy being locked in a stall. We are looking for quiet, well behaved horses that we can offer half off board if they are lightly used in our program. Students start bareback and must earn their saddles and then cloth reins on halter, later bitless bridles and only experienced riders use bits.
