RiverHorse Farm is a family-owned horse boarding and training facility in North Salem, NY that has been run by three generations of the Finlay family for over 25 years.

Our prices include NYS sales tax and are currently:
$1840 per month for stall board (including sales tax)
$1100 per month for pasture board (including sales tax)

RiverHorse offers experienced care by trained equine professionals in a traditional setting. The farm includes stabling for 30 horses in spacious rubber-matted stalls and over 20 turnout paddocks on 50 acres. We take pride in having created a friendly and supportive environment where everyone from casual trail riders to passionate dressage, eventing, or hunter/jumper competitors can enjoy their horses and their sports to the fullest. Situated on rolling North Salem hills and fields only one hour from New York City, the facilities include a gorgeous state-of-the-art covered ring and two outdoor jumping and dressage arenas. The property also has direct access to the beautiful North Salem Bridle Trail system and a large cross country schooling field. We offer a variety of boarding options for retired horses and horses recovering from injury or illness. We accommodate only a small number of horses at one time to enable us to provide close personal attention to them.

Full turnout is catered for in large paddocks with automatic waterers and access to a run-in shed. When boarding with us, for your convenience, Dr. Tina can provide selected routine veterinary services and supervision.

If your horse has been diagnosed with a musculoskeletal injury that requires layup and monitoring, Dr. Tina offers the above mentioned services to assist in recovery from the time of diagnosis until work under saddle is possible again. Windy Acres Farm is located on North Quaker Hill Road in the heart of the historic Quaker Hill Estate area. This equestrian center is a family run boarding, training and rehabilitation facility for all types of horses and riders. The family rarely hires outside laborers preferring to be solely in charge of the horses in their care. The aim of this facility is to provide the best quality of care in the feeding, turnout, and facilities. One of the unique features of Windy Acres is the lush turnout provided to each horse. Equine Boarding and Rehabilitation

We offer a variety of boarding options for trail riding, retired horses and horses recovering from injury or illness. We accommodate a maximum of four horses at one time to enable us to provide close personal attention to them. The horses enjoy 8-10 acres of pasture with 3-rail oak fencing, run-in stalls and sheds and automatic, heated waterers. There is plenty of grass in summer and we provide free choice hay in the winter. The horse barn has four stalls as well as a washing area with heating lamps.

Very reasonable boarding fee includes daily grain with medication and supplement feeding, free-feed hay in winter, fecal egg counts, deworming as needed, fly control and hoof trims.

There are extensive trails available for riding directly from the property. A round pen is available for use as well.

Retirement / Turnout / Lay-up Boarding

Restricted turnout in paddocks of varying size appropriate to the stage of rehabilitation.
