At SMR Equestrin, we believe that top performance begins with quality horse care. Our trainers oversee every aspect of the horses’ care, providing each horse with an individualized, comprehensive feed, care and training program. We feed only the highest quality of hay and feed and use high-quality low-dust shavings for the comfort of your horse. For the convenience of our clients and health of our horses, our board is all inclusive, ensuring that your horse is properly cared for year round, 24/7.

Board Includes:

Semi- Private Lessons and /or training rides, up to three times weekly
Supervised hacks
Arena turnout
Feeding and watering three times daily
Individualized feeding programs, including the administration of owner-provided supplements
Daily Stall cleaning

Our training philosophy focuses on teaching students not only to be successful show riders, but also to become successful horsewomen and men. At SMR Equestrian, we believe that horsemanship starts on the ground and the most successful riders are horsewomen and men first. Riders are taught proper care for the elite equine athlete and encouraged to take an active role in training and caring for their horses. Qualified riders are encouraged to participate in our working student program, which allows riders to help in the barn and hone their skills exercising and schooling a variety of SMR horses.

Emphasis is placed on having a correct and effective rider position as “form follows function”. Flatwork and position are honed in lessons and riders benefit from Sarah’s background in Psychology as they learn the necessary mental discipline and focus to reach the highest levels of riding and competition.

We combine our lessons with articles, videos (both educational and of oneself) and demonstration rides in order to provide a well-rounded learning experience that is suitable for all learning types. Riders and parents are encouraged to participate in regular meetings with training staff to discuss rider goals, help riders set attainable goals and create a plan for achieving their goals.

The Fox Den Farm is a full service boarding operation that offers Hunter Jumper training & lessons. Our program is individualized per horse and rider team for the optimum turn-out in the horse show ring(s). Each horse is cared for independently from its very own nutritional program to training program. The doors are open 7 days a week from 9am-9pm and The Fox Den Farm has staff on-site 24/7 for the peace of mind of each and every boarder.

The facility itself offers tranquility nestled in the rolling hills of the country side, and yet with ease of access from US 23 (5 mins) and US 75 (15mins). Come and meet the best barn family ever and allow yourself to relax and enjoy the spacious and clean atmosphere. Stalls are 12 x 12 and the barn is naturally lit with plenty of sunlight and upgraded LED lighting available in stalls, aisle way, and provided in our 165 x 70 indoor riding arena. The outdoor arena overlooks the scenic views of the country side with some of the most amazing Michigan sunsets available. All turn out pastures have grass including the private pens. We offer a round pen for training needs and always maintain the footing of all the riding spaces. Indoor wash stalls available. We provide attentive, full-care horse boarding at a friendly, casual riding facility. We are just a short trailer ride away from Indian Springs, Pontiac Lake Recreation Area, Highland and Kensington State parks. Facilities include the following:

We offer stall boarding with turn out at 6am. We feed 1x or 2x daily depending on your preference. We clean stalls everyday to every other day depending on weather conditions. We bring in around 3pm in winter and 6pm in summer. We supply round bales to the pastures through winter months. We have a 80x180 indoor arena and a decent size round pen. We also have dirt roads surrounding our property and the PollyAnne trail is 1/4 of a mile down the road from the farm. We feed 10% sweet feed and 1st-2nd cutting hay.
