Horse Boarding in Dunstable, Massachusetts (Middlesex County)

Signal Rock Stables has opening for one Full Board paddock available but could accept 2 or more horses that are used to being turned out together and would occupy one paddock. We have plenty of stall space which we use during inclement weather – snow, ice, heavy winds, heavy rains in the colder temps. Seems like they come in more during November and March/April than any other time lately. My husband and I live on the premises and do all the care for the horses since 2014 when we switched to full 24/7 turn out with 24/7 hay in hay huts – either loose or netted depending on the horses needs. We find the horses are so much happier with this type of care verses being stalled nightly year round. They are occupied and active, with lots of room to move their legs. Our farm of 245 acres is in Charlton, MA where our primary income is from haying. We have 100 acres of well fertilized, soil tested hay fields and make over 12,000 bales of hay each year so we keep plenty for our horses needs. We are experienced horse owners and barn managers (over 20+ years each) and live on the premises. Horses are given 24/7 turn out in their own large grassy paddock (2/3 acre each) with run in sheds for 24/7 access to shelter. Paddocks have heated water tanks during the winter and we bring the horses in as needed to a large barn with matted stalls, 24/7 hay and heated buckets if needed. We provide individual care for each horse as we limit our boarding to 5 to 6 horses rather than the 14 we boarded here for many years. We accept horses that are well trained and either fully retired or are kept in reasonable work to be safe to handle and manageable. We enjoy having boarders to keep our horse company and because we love horses. There is wonderful trail riding on our farm as well as nearby state trails and a nice riding ring 66'x140', that is sand/shredded rubber mix for good footing/drainage and quick thawing in the winter. Sick of rushing out of the barn at night, leaving no time to ride after work? 1 in and out stall w/attached stone dust paddock will be available at Enterprise Stables September 1st for full board. Rotational access to larger turnout is available as well.

Located in Plainville, MA, there are no restrictive barn hours to hold you back. The barn is attached to a large 80' x 200' indoor arena with GGT footing with a full jump course. If you don't want to be stuck inside, ride in one of two sand/stone dust outdoor rings. Both have lights and are dragged and watered on a regular basis. The larger outdoor arena has a full jump course set up seasonally as well. If ringwork isn't your thing, ride in one of several fields around the property or take a jaunt just up the street to the beautiful groomed trails. Maybe you prefer ground work. The 60' sand round pen is the perfect place for this. The barn itself has a heated bathroom, heated tack/observation room with lockers, and several grooming stalls with heat lamps and fans.

Horses are grained 2x daily and fed 1st cut hay (2nd cut can be provided at an additional cost) 3x daily. Stalls and paddocks are picked several times throughout the day for round the clock cleanliness. Water buckets are dumped, scrubbed and filled each evening. Barn staff arrives early and leaves late, meaning your horse will receive the best oversight and care possible. Access to big barn facilities, but with only 5 horses under our care, your horse will receive individual attention. Blanket changes, feeding of owner supplies supplements and application of owner supplied fly spray and masks is included. Use your own vet and farrier or one who already comes to the property.

Best of all, there is no lesson/training requirement. For those that want to improve their riding, there are several trainers who already come to or reside at the farm, or feel free to bring in your own MA licensed and insured instructor.
