Welcome to Merkel Farms, a family owned and operated equestrian center run by Stephanie Serenati-Merkel. Merkel Farm is nestled between Bowie State University and the Patuxent Wildlife Preserve in Bowie, MD and is within easy reach from the Washington D.C., Annapolis and Baltimore metro areas. We have miles of trails surrounding the property. We also have a lighted indoor and outdoor ring which allows for boarders and lesson students to ride year round. We have two barns and two separately fenced fields for turnout. The outdoor and indoor rings are dragged throughout the year to maintain optimal footing for horses. Merkel Farms also runs a summer camp and host a winter show series.

We are a small private facility offering stall board from $525, all fields have board and rail, we are attached to 90 acres of private trails and only a couple of minutes ride from the lower Mcgruder trails leading onto Seneca Greenway trails, we have a 100 x 200 blue stone arena, owners are on the premises 24/7 we use natural predators to help control our flies and offer an assortment of hay and grain, as each horse is an individual we offer individual care, this is a great enviroment for a retiree, board does include blanketing, fly masks, holding for the vet etc. We also have 2 stalls available for assisted self care $350 per month per stall.... The property has a 1/4 mile private new paved driveway, and is backed by the upper stream of the Patuxent River. The farm is less than 1 mile away from Walmart Shopping Center, 3 miles away from Bowie Town Center, less than 20 minutes driving distance to Annapolis, about 30 minutes to Fort Meade, less than 40 minutes driving distance to Washington DC and about 45 minutes to Baltimore. You can also take New Carrollton Amtrak, or Green Belt metro station to Washington DC or many other places. To New Carrollton Amtrak metro stations is less 20 minutes driving, and about 35 minutes to the Green Belt one.

We are a full service boarding facility on a gorgeous 15 acres. We offer stall boarding or pasture boarding. We are located on the beautiful Eastern Shore in Warwick, MD.
