Pine Hollow stables is a family owned boarding facility opened in the spring of 2006 by Leesa Parkhill-Nieland, her family, and countless friends who made this ranch possible. Together with her husband Dan, they invite you to see how Pine Hollow is a different kind of facility, kick off your shoes, and maybe even stay awhile.

Our goal is to provide the best possible care for your horse, while offering a unique community experience for the horse owner. There's no snobbery or politics's here, so check them at the gate. This is a horse owners dream come true and your home away from home.

With the owners living on the property and managing the day to day chores themselves, you can rest assure that your horse is getting the same care that they would be getting if you were doing it yourself.

Regardless of the level of care you choose, your horse indoors or out, ALL Pine Hollow boarders enjoy the same amenities. Use of arenas, round pen, turn outs, and tack areas are all standard, and provided to you at no extra charge.

All horses are checked on twice daily for cuts, kicks, and heat. If there is an issue, you will be notified, and veterinarian called for your piece of mind in the event of an emergency.


FULL CARE STALLS

Your horse is bedded in a large stall with a generous portion of high quality hay, grain and clean/fresh filtered water twice daily.
They are turned out for 1 to 3 hours a day, and blanket application and removal are provided in the cold months.
The stalls are cleaned once a day, and striped and sanitized once a month.


SEMI SELF CARE STALL

Your horse enjoys the same large stall with generous portions of hay and clean/fresh filtered water twice a day.
You provide the gain and we feed it for you.
You provide the bedding and cleaning and enjoy the comforts of having your horse in a stall at a reduced rate.


PADDOCK BOARDING

The paddocks are kept to a small community 4-6 depending on the season, and they are on quality round bales 24/7
A square bale feed paddock is available for the easy keeper, or the horse that is prone to founder, or colic.
They all have shelter, and fresh water filled and checked twice daily.


PASTURE BOARDING

Our beautiful pasture is seasonal. April to December.
16 acres of rolling hills and trees with a pond, creek, and natural spring calls to your horses wild side, and offers your horse the ability to frolic and play the way they were meant to.
They are checked on twice a day and brought up to the paddocks for winter.

AKS Farms' beautiful, fully heated facility is located just off of HWY 5 on Blue Street in Norwalk, IA! We are just 10 minutes from West Des Moines and are a convenient location for the Des Moines, Norwalk, Indianola and Carlisle areas!
AKS Farms is a full service equine facility offering competition training for the Arabian Horse show circuit as well as Iowa's Premier Riding School!
We are the home of Saddle Seat Equitation World Cup Gold Medalist and multi-National Champion trainer/instructor Alexis Scott. Preparations for a large outdoor arena are well under way!
Students and parents are welcome to spend as much time at the barn as possible, helping with chores, grooming and exercising horses, and making friends that last a lifetime! We have weekly cookouts, holiday parties and encourage camaraderie.
We hold in-barn schooling shows that give our students the opportunity to show off what they learn to family and friends, as well as attend outside shows, which range from fun-show level to national-level competition.

Our heated facility allows us to give lessons year-round, and our lesson horses are the best in the Midwest at teaching students how to really ride! Here at Rolling Hills Stables we offer pasture board and do it yourself stall boarding. We also offer trail rides to the public by reservation on the weekends. We also offer pony ride rental and birthday parties by reservation. We have a small indoor arena so you can still have your pony ride or work with your horse.

Chasing Laurels enjoys providing a variety of programs for children, teens, and adults. There are riding lessons, day-camps, birthday parties, unicorn parties, public & private school visits, trail rides, camp-outs with horses, hang outs at the barn, Girl Scout Badge Clinics, boarding for ponies & horses, volunteering opportunities and more.

We are Proudly located at the old Rasmussen Training & Layup Center.

The lessons last one hour. They include grooming, tacking, and riding.We provide general English and Western lessons and ownership lessons, for adults and children. Breeding/boarding/training facility with knowledgeable, experienced horse owners. Because we are essentially a breeding farm, we, the owners, have dealt with and/or raised hundreds, if not thousands of horses over the past 20 years. I don't think there is a *horse emergency* that we have not dealt with. Vet, farrier, and/or previous boarders/owners references upon request.
While we specialize in raising and training - cow bred - APHA horses, we do not discriminate according to discipline. LOL Currently boarding: dressage/eventer (w/trainer), 4-H horses, reining horses (w/ trainer), western pleasure, english pleasure, and several trail horses - to include a donkey, and a mini!
We are not a 'show barn', we are a very laid back, and easy going facility. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, and 'boring' doesn't bother you....you and your horse will feel very welcome here.
All board includes hay and/or lush grass/legume pastures, as well as any grain you provide. Board also includes access to our 60 x 152 indoor arena.
