Runaway Farm is a unique horse boarding facility. The farm is located on 140+acres in Columbia, CT., 20 minutes from UCONN and 15 minutes from ESCU. We offer flexible boarding options, affordable lessons, and horse leases (we have a few horses that are looking to get leased out with flexible and affordable leasing options!). We welcome riders of all levels and ages. We have western riders, dressage riders, jumpers, eventers, and beginners! We also offer children lessons!

Our mission is to provide a fun, safe, and relaxed atmosphere for all riders and horses. We all work together to help each other reach our goals, dreams, and desires!

The farm is on over 140 acres of land and horses are turned out 24/7 with access to grass pasture. We have trails located on the property, outdoor lighted arena, and we even have a cross country course in the works. Bear Paw Barn is an adult lower level dressage training barn. Our no-pressure training environment allows riders and horses to progress at their own pace and comfort level. Our dressage training focuses on a foundation of groundwork and safe handling.
We are also the home of Sumner Brook Farm Inc. a small non-profit horse rescue. We rehabilitate, retrain and re-home horses in need.

The barn features a well lit 60x 90' Indoor arena with geo-textile footing and 4 large doors for cool breezes in summer. Our 80x 130' lighted outdoor has sand/rubber footing, hay fields to hack around, trails nearby, quiet atmosphere. 2 Stalls open, November 1st, at a beautiful horse farm in Middletown, CT. Tons of grass, large stalls that are well bedded. Miles of trails to enjoy or school in our large sand arena. Minutes from Route 17, Route 66, and Route 9. With in a half hour of 691, Route 15, 91 and 95. Quality horse care, from an experienced and knowledgable barn manager, who puts your horses needs first. Great place to ENJOY your horse whether you show, trail ride, pleasure ride or have a retired horse! This is the place to be!

Board includes:
- Daily turnout on grass or dirt paddocks (mostly grass) that is group or individual turnout.
- Quality hay 2-3 times a day. Individualized feed programs to meet horses needs. Supplements fed out daily.
-Use of arenas and riding areas. Plenty of room to store tack and blankets. Newly re-done Tack room.
-Use of Mini- fridge, microwave and coffee machine.
-Blanket and fly mask changing is included with board. As is a de-worming program.
-Daily cleaning of stalls and paddocks.

Barn Features:
Large 12'x12' - 12'x14' stalls. Every stall has a window and is well ventilated. 17 acres of grass turnout. Every paddock has shade available for the horses. Large barn isle that is clean and clutter free. Plenty of room to store tack and blankets. Heated office, bathroom, and tack room. Miles of trails directly off of the property.
