Most Farriers will not work on wild, dangerous, difficult, injured or Draft horses due to the added time, patience and skill it takes to properly evaluate and work with these horses. Although I do charge extra fees for Draft horses and Difficult/Dangerous horses, I do my best to keep it affordable for the owner and I find it rewarding when their horse overcomes their issues with the Farrier. I specialize in barefoot hoof trimming to include most hoof issues such as cracks, White Line Disease (WLD), corrective angles, and in some cases, Navicular Disease and Founder. If your horse shows signs of any of these, it may require a Basic or In-Depth Hoof and Soundness Evaluation.

*If your horse kicks, bites, rears, strikes, doesn't tie/cross tie or needs work on picking up their feet and standing quietly for the farrier, please tell me in advance so I can schedule your appointment accordingly to allow more time for a Difficult Horse/Training/Additional Time Fee ($20-40 Fee in addition to Trimming Fees). It may take a half hour or it may take several hours depending on the horse's issues. If I have other appointments and have not been informed of potential difficulties and I have other appointments scheduled, I will have to reschedule and a $20 minimum charge for my time.
** Each horse's first, second and possibly third appointments will take longer than regular appointments as I carefully evaluate each horse's conformation, soundness, bio-mechanics and hoof structure so that I can trim accordingly. Even if you think your horses don't need corrective or therapeutic trimming, keep in mind that it's very rare that I take on a new horse that doesn't need some correction. There may be additional fees of $20-40 per service if the horse needs a Comprehensive Evaluation, Corrective Trimming, Thrush/White Line Disease Treatment or additional time for Training of Difficult Horses.

HORSE TRAINING (Farrier, Ground Work, Starting & Finishing riding Show & Pleasure Horses)
I will come to you and your horse if you are within 50 miles of Rock Hill, SC (York County). If you want the best value, are experienced enough and can commit to working with your horse at least twice a week on your own, you can choose DIY Horse Training. This means I will come work with your horse to find out what he needs work on, figure out how he learns best and then teach you what to work on until the next time I come out. This includes video, face-time, text or phone conversations for any trouble shooting that may be necessary between sessions with me. This saves so much money on horse training and boarding for training purposes!

DO IT YOURSELF (DIY) HORSE TRAINING (English/Western Trail, Pleasure and Show)
Sending your horse to a training barn can be stressful for them and expensive for you. And in the end, you may not have the connection with your horse that your trainer does that allows them to do everything you want them to. You might bring them home and run into problems on your own because the Trainer at the barn has built up that trust and relationship separate from you. But with DIY Training, I come to you and your horse and teach you how to train your horse in a way that's safe for you and your horse, and that also allows you to have the trust and bond with your horse.

RIDING INSTRUCTION ON YOUR HORSE (English/Western Trail, Pleasure and Show)
Unfortunately, I do not have any lesson horses at the moment, but I can give you riding lessons on your own horse at your place. If you are boarding, please check with your farm owner before making an appointment!
