I obtained some of my farrier experience in England and when I moved to America I completed Red Tomlinson's Farrier school in Daytona, Florida. I qualified with distinction and became a certified Farrier and a member of The Brotherhood of Working Farriers Association (BWFA).
I have extensive experience with horses, competing on the Rodeo circuit and working as a Western Riding Instructor/Trainer.

Doug Henry is the owner of Doug Henry Horse Shoeing. Although he resides in Volusia County, he travels for his farrier business throughout Florida. Doug is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Doug’s business, life, and family can be summarized by the following verse, “The righteous care for the needs of their animals” (Proverbs 12:10). Doug is an accredited professional farrier who has been in business since 2011. He is a member of the American Association of Professional Farriers. Doug has extensive experience in the horse industry both personally and professionally. I am a certified barefoot trimmer with 10 years experience based out of the DAYTONA BEACH/Volusia county area.
I trim within 1 hour of Port Orange, Florida.

I attended trimming school at Equinextion in Canada in 2012, followed by apprenticeship (2 years). I held a client base in upstate NY for 8 years, followed by the last 2 years here in Florida.

I am not a traditional farrier in that do not apply shoes, however I studied & specialize in a balanced barefoot trim that allows the horse to function at its best.
I am on-time for appointments, and patient with the horses. I love them and I love to trim feet!
