Trimming and shoeing

Experienced professional farrier service providing a full range of shoeing and barefoot methodologies for pleasure, performance, and rehab.

Barefoot trimming, composite shoes, and hoof boots in southern New Hampshire and surrounding states.
My hoofcare journey started with one too many frustrating farrier experiences with my Thoroughbred eventer, prompting me to decide to learn to do it myself. I quickly discovered Pete Ramey and then Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners, and one thing led to another, and now here we are. I believe that no matter your discipline, your horses will be best served by striving to grow the healthiest hooves that they can.
My pricing structure is $50 for a routine barefoot trim (ie last trim no longer than a six weeks ago, no major behavioral issues for trimming, etc). Shoeing, boot fitting, horses whose last trim was more than six weeks ago, or horses for whom I need to schedule extra time for any other reason are charged at an hourly rate (rounded to the nearest quarter hour) based on the number of routine trims I could have gotten done in that time, plus materials where applicable. Travel fees are currently being reworked and are based on travel time.

I offer quality barefoot hoof care services, with 13 years of hoof care experience and over 30 years of equine experience. Helping horses have happy heathy hooves! I specialize in corrective trimming of minis and donkeys suffering from founder, laminitis and other hoof distortions. I learned to ride a horse (Baby Bull) when I was four years old. I’ve been involved with horses and riding ever since. Growing up in a business-minded, competitive, disciplined, and artistic family helped me graduate at the top of my class from the Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School. But my equine education doesn’t stop there. I stay up to date as changes in Farrier service techniques are refined and improved by regularly attending seminars, lectures and conventions. In addition to instruction, occupational experience leads me to opportunities like working on what was once the tallest horse in the world (according to the Guinness Book of World Records), Remington, and the former AQHA world champion reining horse, Texas Kicker. I’ve worked on horses at top ranches in the country, including Stuart Ranch (ranked in the top 15 of horse ranches by Western Horseman magazine), the Jud Little Ranch and the Pieper Ranch. Of late, I had the opportunity to shoe for America’s Most Trusted Horseman, John Lyons, as well as, work/shoe extensively with Josh Lyons and the Lyons Legacy program.
