Doug Henry is the owner of Doug Henry Horse Shoeing. Although he resides in Volusia County, he travels for his farrier business throughout Florida. Doug is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Doug’s business, life, and family can be summarized by the following verse, “The righteous care for the needs of their animals” (Proverbs 12:10). Doug is an accredited professional farrier who has been in business since 2011. He is a member of the American Association of Professional Farriers. Doug has extensive experience in the horse industry both personally and professionally. Doug knows firsthand the critical role of the farrier in horses’ performance as he and his family have owned their own performance horses that were instrumental in their daily lives as cattlemen and rodeo contestants. Doug has worked as a veterinarian technician for Ocala Equine Hospital where he worked directly with one of the owners and leading veterinarians in the industry. Doug is passionate about the horse industry and the farrier profession as he has been instrumental in encouraging and supporting his son, Chandon to pursue a career as a farrier and his daughter, Kaylin, to attend veterinary school at Auburn University.
